Books on the art of taxidermy
Although a typical "hands on" craft as taxidermy can hardly be learned from books, having a smaller or larger library on the subject sure helps to hone your skills. And if you're not a taxidermist yourself, it's interesting to read the occasional bit about how deer mounts are made, how squirrels are stuffed, how an elephant is cleaned of its flesh, or even how the ancient Egyptians created their mummies.
There are books that teach you about the differences between faux antlers and real antlers, or why one stuffed moose head comes apart at the seams while the other lasts forever. Books about taxidermy supplies may also be of interest to you - even if you don't want to become a taxidermist, you should have at least some knowledge of their trade and tools!
